The government doctors across the state would strike work on May 3.The strike has been called by the Kerala Government Medical Officers Association (KGMOA) demanding the pay revisions.
On May 3, the doctors will boycott duties in all the hospitals across the state. However, a skeletal staff would be attending the emergency cases. This will be the first total strike by the doctors in the last three years affecting the functioning of the government hospitals across the state for a day.
Years ago, great man Mahatma Gandhi thought out the practice of non-violent struggle against the British by means of boycott, non-cooperation and it got us our freedom. Now, the concept is used and misused every other day for the most unnecessary reasons, taking the glory away from the man who created it for a purpose - for the better, brighter and successful future of his countrymen. Here, this non-violent practice is now the biggest stumbling block of the future of India.

ഗാന്ധിജിയുടെ സമരമുറ തിരിച്ചു വന്നു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുകയാണ്. അതു മാത്രം കൊണ്ട് അന്നത്തേപ്പോലെ ഇന്നും വിജയകരമായി സമരം അവസാനിപ്പിക്കാന്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞെന്നും വരില്ല. ത്സാന്‍സിറാണി, പഴശ്ശിരാജാ,ഭഗത് സിംഗ്, കുഞ്ഞാലിമരയ്ക്കാര്‍ തുടങ്ങിയവരും അവരുടെ സമര മുറകളും വേണ്ടി വന്നേക്കാം. പക്ഷേ, ജനം നിലവിലുള്ള സമരത്തെ അനുകൂലിക്കുന്നില്ല. അവരുടെ ജീവിത നിലവാരം ഉയര്‍ന്നതും, മാധ്യമങ്ങളും ഇത്തരം ചിന്തയ്ക്കായുള്ള സാഹചര്യം ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു. പുത്തന്‍ സാഹചര്യങ്ങള്‍ ഉയര്‍ന്നു വരും. സമരങ്ങളെ പുച്ഛിച്ചു തള്ളിയവര്‍ തന്നെ കൈയ്യില്‍ കിട്ടുന്ന ആയുധങ്ങളുമായി ആരുടേയും ആഹ്വാനമില്ലാതെ തെരുവിലിറങ്ങുന്ന സാഹചര്യം സംജാതമാകും. അതുവരെ കാത്തിരിക്കാനുള്ള ക്ഷമ കാണിക്കുന്നതാണ് ബുദ്ധി. ഇപ്പോള്‍ എന്തു പറഞ്ഞാലും തലയില്‍ കയറില്ല. kgmoa-യുടെ സമരം ഒരു പക്ഷേ ന്യായമായിരിക്കാം. എന്നാല്‍ എല്ലാ സമരങ്ങളെയും പോലെ ഇതിന്‍െറ ഗതിയും മറ്റൊന്നാവില്ല.
