Chandrasekharan murder: Four more arrested
KOZHIKODE: Four more persons were arrested on Wednesday in connection with the murder of Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP) leader T.P. Chandrasekharan. They are identified as K.C. Ramachandran (who was taken into custody on Tuesday and is member of CPI-M Kunnummakkara local committee), Dilshad of Azhiyoor, Muhammed Fazal and Sanish.
With this the total number of persons arrested in the case has been raised to nine.
Earlier, five suspects were arrested—Padayankandi Raveendran, a member of CPI-M's Orkatteri local committee, Pradeepan, Dipin, Ramesh and Rejith. Kunnamangalam Court where the arrestees were presented sent Padayankandi Raveendran to police custody for 14 days while Dipin, Ramesh and Rejith were sent to four days’ police custody. The first accused Pradeepan has been remanded.
It was Sanish who helped the culprits to escape. Dilshan and Fazal, who have connections with CPI-M, not only helped them to hide the weapons used for murder but also helped them get SIM cards through illegal means.
