Thursday, July 21, 2011: The government on Thursday announced its liquor policy by introducing curbs on foreign liquor market. Main suggestions include restricting bar silences to five star hotels from 2014 and fixing the opening time of bars at 9 a.m.
The policy suggests the raising of age limit for buying liquor from 18 to 21 and also states that toddy shops should not be allotted to societies from now on.
The new policy will be considered in the next cabinet meeting.
