Thursday, July 20, 2011: Kerala Lok Ayukta has today sought an explanation from the jail ADGP and additional Chief Secretary in connection with the parole that was granted to Kerala Congress (B) leader, R Balakrishna Pillai who was sentenced to one year RI in Idamalayar case.
The explanation was sought based on a complaint that Pillai was granted parole without following the rules.
Pillai who was undergoing jail sentence in the Poojappura Central prison was again granted parole for 30 days. However, the UDF Government is learnt to have taken a decision to give remission for those who have crossed 70 years of age and are languishing in jail.
