Pipe bursts again in capital city, water supply disrupted
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Pipe bursts have haunted the city once again. The pipe carrying water from Aruvikkara to the capital city had burst again. The burst was detected in the same pipeline which happened last Monday. The leak was detected Sunday morning at 7 am on the 1200 M M pipeline near the reservoir in Kummi. Pumping of water from Aruvikkara stopped immediately after the bursts.
Water supply to Vellayambalam, Vazhuthacaud, Statue, PMG, Medical College, Pattoor, Pettah, Kannamoola and airport areas has been hit. The burst was detected in one of the four main lines carrying water to the capital city.
Bursts were detected on the pipes in Vazhyila, Koottappara and Karakulam areas on the eve of the Attukala Pongala. Kerala Water Authority is shocked on the leak noticed soon after solving the issue two days back.
Nobody is aware when the supply of water will be restored.
