Toll rises to seven in cracker unit blast

PALAKKAD: The toll in the cracker unit blast in Cherpalassery has risen to seven. Seriously injured Mani (49) of Kongad, who was undergoing treatment at the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital, succumbed to his injuries early Sunday morning.

The cracker unit which caught fire belonged to Kalakunnath Mohammed.

Those died yesterday were Musthafa (41) of Thazhathethil house, Nallaya,  Sukumaran (65) son of Ayyappan, Thalikkal House, Panniyamkurissi, Musthafa (40), son of Moidu, Puthanpeedika, Panniyamkurissi,  Suresh (40), son of Chandran, Cherippattil Veedu, Thekkemuri, Sadasivan (42), son of Sankaran, Akathenparambil House, Panniyampadam, and Raman (42), son of Sankaran, Cherikkattil House, Panniyampadam.
