KOZHIKODE: The Congress and Indian Union Muslim League, the two major constituents in the ruling United Democratic Front in Kerala, seems to be at loggerheads on creation of a deputy chief minister's post if the statements of their leaders today were any indication.
Talking to reporters after an office bearers meet here, IUML national Secretary E T Mohammed Basheer, MP said his party is firm on getting the Deputy Chief Ministership.
Reiterating his party's claim to the post which it held it twice earlier, he said the IUML deserved it and hence there was no change in its stand.
He said the party had cancelled its proposed Delhi visit to take up the issue with the Congress High Command as it did not get an appointment for the purpose.
