THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Expressing his disappointment over Governor’s speech in the opening session of the Assembly, Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan on Friday said the governors’ address was just old wine in a new bottle and it didn’t have any mention on price rise and steps to curb corruption.
Achuthanandan said nothing was said about creative policies evolved to maintain law and order. “By persuading the governor to criticise the Left agitations, the government has done something unfair. The government has done this to cover up its deficiencies,” the Opposition leader alleged.
The governor in his opening speech had said that the Left-organised strikes often crossed the line of decency.
