Muthoot murder: Court to read out chargesheet on Mar 5


 Thursday, 05 January 2012: Thiruvananthapuram CBI court today posted read out chargesheet of Muthoot Paul murder case to March 5.
Kari Satheeshan, the second accused in the case has submitted a bail application in Court and this will be considered on Tuesday.
Meanwhile the Court had earlier sent summonses to 14 accused including the leader of Chanaganassery quotation gang Jayachandran, the first accused and Kari Satheeshan, the second accused. There are 241 witnesses in the case.
Om Prakash and Puthanpalam Rajesh who were earlier included in the accused list were made approvers by the Court.
Earlier, CBI has made seven accused in the case to approvers. The accused are Thomas Kuriakose, Sunil, Nibin Thomas, Aneesh Kumar, Binoy Markose, Jain Jose and Ramesh.
High Court had earlier granted permission for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to extend the investigation period of the Paul Muthoot murder case to 2 more months.
CBI had requested for more time for completion of probe and to submit the charge-sheet in connection with Muthoot murder case.
Paul M George, 32, was killed under mysterious circumstances near Alappuzha on Aug 21, 2010 while travelling in a car with Om Prakash and Rajesh, two men who face several criminal cases in the state.
The father of the deceased in his petition, seeking the CBI probe, had highlighted 18 points listing the manner in which the probe by the police was going on.
