Ice-cream case: KA Rauf ready to undergo polygraph test

Monday, January 30, 2012: KA Rauf, co-brother of Industries Minister PK Kunhalikutty on Monday has expressed his willingness to undergo a polygraph test in connection with the sensational ice-cream parlour sex scandal case in Kozhikode, in which a minor girl was sexually exploited by many persons after promising her role in films.
Speaking to the presspersons here on Monday, Rauf added that he had wrote a letter to ADGP Winson M Paul, who is heading the Special Investigation team (SIT) probing the case. The probe team had submitted the final probe report and case diary before the Kerala High Court on Monday.
The probe team had conducted an investigation into the alleged involvement of Idustries Minister PK Kunhalikutty in the sex scandal case. The probe team headed by ADGP Winson M Paul submitted the report after 10 months investigation that was ordered during the previous LDF government’s tenure.
Kunhalikutty is among those facing the heat in the infamous sex scandal of the 1990s in which young girls were allegedly drugged, using ice creams laced with sedative, and sexually exploited.
Kunhalikutty faced the heat over the scandal early this year after his brother-in-law (KA Rauf) revealed that he (Kunhalikutty) allegedly influenced the judiciary and got away by evading being named an accused in the sex scandal.
KA Rauf had alleged that former advocate general MK Damodaran had accepted a bribe of Rs 32 lakh to sabotage CBI probe into the case. KA Rauf during an in-camera trail had informed the Kozhikode first class judicial magistrate court that Kunhalikutty had influenced the judges and the AG to sabotage the case.
