All-party meet recommends closure of Vilappilsala plant

Thursday, April 19, 2012: An all-party meeting held here on Thursday to discuss the Vilappilsala garbage treatment plant issue in the wake of Supreme Court order has recommended for a closure of the plant.
The meeting suggested that the decision taken by the state government on December 21 for closure of plant must be implemented. The government must also give assurance that no more trash would be taken to the Vilappilsala for treatment. A decision on how to process the trash piled up in plant would be taken later.
The land on which plant in located, must be taken over by the government.
