Balakrishnan Congress lost control of Kerala: Kodiyeri

Friday, April 13, 2012: CPI(M) politburo member and Deputy Opposition leader in Kerala assembly, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has alleged that the Congress has lost its control over the ruling in the state and that is why it yielded to the demand of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) for a fifth minister in the cabinet.
Talking to reporters at Thalassery, Mr Kodiyeri said Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and the Congress have failed in front of the communal forces in Kerala.
It is said that the decision to give one more minister to the IUML was taken against the earlier decision of the KPCC executive and hence KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala should resign from the post taking responsibility for sabotaging the decision, he added.
Mr Kodiyeri also said that he was not invited for the swearing-in ceremony of ministers
