Wednesday, April 18, 2012: Parasalla block panchayat member F Lawrence will be the Left candidate for Neyyattinkara.The name of Lawrence was proposed by CPM Thiruvananthapuram district commitee and was finalised by the state secretariat which convened on Wednesday. The district commitee had unanimously proposed Lawrence name.
With R Selvaraj quitting the LDF and contesting as UDF candidate from Neyattinkara, the CPM decided to field a Nadar community member. Lawrence was a Kerala Congress Joseph faction activist earlier. Lawrence has a strong hold in the two panchayats that was merged with Neyyatinkara from Parassala. Lawrence is from a financially backward family.
