KOCHI: Maritime Law University will introduce two new courses soon. As there is a demand for legal hands in various capacities in the field of maritime, a post-graduate degree in Maritime Law will be introduced in the coming academic year. The varsity also plans to introduce MBA in International Transportation and Logistics Management soon.
“LLM (Maritime Law), a two-year course is likely to commence in August. We will also be introducing MBA in International Transportation and Logistics Management on the Cochin campus. These courses have already commenced in Chennai,” said IMU First Vice-Chancellor P Vijayan.
Those who completed bachelors degree in law with minimum 55 per cent marks (50 per cent for SC, ST, and differently-abled) will be eligible to apply. Twenty seats will be available, said sources. At present, four courses are available at the varsity in Kochi.
The courses are - One-year Diploma in Nautical Science leading to the award of BSc degree in Nautical Science, BSc in Ship Repair and Shipbuilding, MBA (Port and Shipping Management) and Post Graduate Diploma in Marine Engineering (GME).
