Don’t give government land to INKEL: Revenue Department

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Revenue Department has handed over a note, a copy of which is with ‘Kerala Kaumudi’ daily, to the Industries Department instructing that those lands acquired for government’s use should not be transferred to Infrastructures Kerala Limited (INKEL).

The note (No. 41315/A3/2012/RD) has been given along with the Revenue Minister’s recommendation.

The Revenue Department has instructed that the recommendations put forward by INKEL for constructing industrial units with private sector participants on government lands should only be considered on strict conditions. The stance of INKEL requesting to permit single-window system for land transaction should in no way be allowed.

INKEL had earlier recommended transferring 300 acres of government lands for completing five projects—Olympic Tower at Vanross Junction in Thiruvananthapuram, Industrial Unit in Thampanoor, renovation of Palayam market, Furniture City in Aluva, and Educity in Palakkad.
