Woman fails to identify accused in harassment case



THRISSUR: A woman, who was harassed by a police officer in a bus last month, failed to identify the accused in an identification parade held here on Friday. A complaint lodged to the Chief Minister, Home Minister and the Superintendent of Police, she alleged that the police officer came with a thick beard and moustache for the parade. He had a clean-shaved face on the day of harassment, she said. She said there was an attempt to confuse her as three more people with similar beard and moustache were paraded on Friday.

The identification parade was held before Judicial First Class Magistrate G Anil Kumar. The woman was allegedly molested in a bus on Shoranur-Thrissur route on July 18, while she was returning after conducting vavu bali rites for her husband at Cheruthuruthy. A circle inspector with the Rapid Rescue Response Force Unit in Malappuram, was accused of trying to molest the woman in a bus on Shoranur-Thrissur route on July 18.
