South-west monsoon has vigorous over Kerala


THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: South-west monsoon has been vigarous over Kerala. Rain occurred at most places in Kerala and at isolated places in Lakshadweep.

According to meteorology sources here, Heavy to Very heavy rain fall reported in cm are: Kanjirappally 9, Ponnani 8 Kayamkulam,Kozlandy,Vadakara 7 each. TVM Airport,Chalakudi,Irikkur,Konni 5 each.

Agathi, CIAL airport TVM city, Talacherry, Mananthavadi, Parambikkulam, Trichur, Aluva, Thalacherry, Mannanthavadi, Parambikkulam, Trichur, Aluva, Piravom, Mavalikkara, Chenganoor, Vaikom, Munnar, Aryankavu 4 each.

Alappuzha, Cherthala, Haripad, Karipoor Airport, EKM south, Taliparambu,Minikoy,Palakkad,Ottappalam,Alathur,Kollamkode, Pattambi,Thithala,Vellanikkara,Enamakkal,Thodupuzha,Tiruvalla, Kudilu & Agathi 3 each.

Another 16 stations reported a rainfall of 1-3 cm. Forecast valid until the morning of 1st Sept. rain or thunder showers will occur at many places in Kerala and Isolated places in Lakshadweep.

Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy rainfall will occur at isolated places in Kerala & Lakshadweep during next 48 hours. Outlook for subsequent two day (sept 2, 3) no significant change.

Fisherman warning: Strong onshore winds from Westernly direction speed occasionally reaching 45-55KMPH is likely along and off Kerala coast and over Lakshadweep area during the next 24 hour.
