Doctor’s on strike as 1 doctor dismissed in Satnam case

Friday, August 17, 2012: Doctors at the Peroorkada mental health centre went on strike on Friday as a Doctor has been dismissed and five Doctors were transferred by the health department, from various centres, over the lapses in treating the Bihari youth, Satnam Singh Mann.

Dr Veena G. Tilak, a psychiatrist at the Peroorkada hospital, has been dismissed. Dr Maya Raghavan, who was on duty at the time the patient was brought as also another doctor Dr Ramachandran Pillai have been transferred.

Dr Hareesh Mani of Kollam district hospital and doctors Chintha Sukumaran and Kiran of Karunagapally taluk hospital have also been transferred.
