THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government is against the taking over of the lease expired estates in Nelliampathy, as part of trying to sabotage land reformation, said CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan.Talking to reporters here, he said an unholy nexus exists between the government and the land mafia.
The UDF sub panel was formed to help encroachers in the Nelliampathy issue. The government is purposely losing cases for the encroachers, he said. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has some vested interests in taking over the Cherunelli Estate, he said.
He requested to make the strike to be observed tomorrow against the anti-people policies of both central and state governments, a success.
