MALAPPURAM: Muslims in Kerala will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Sunday, marking the conclusion of the fasting month of Ramadan.
The sighting of the Moon, marking the end of the fasting season, was declared this evening by 'Kazis' (spiritual leaders) of the community, including Panakkad Syid Hyderali Thangal, here.
Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly V S Achuthanandan and leaders of various political parties greeted the people on the occasion.
