Nelliampathy: MLAs submit report to UDF panel

KOCHI: A team of MLAs who visited the Nelliampathy Estate submitted the report to the UDF sub panel convenor A N Rajan Babu regarding the taking over of it by the government. T N Prathapan, V D Satheesan, Hibi Eden, V T Balram and Shreyams Kumar are the MLAs who visited the estate.

Widespread encroachment was detected in Nelliampathy violating lease agreement. The report stated that the land was not encroached by farmers but by the land mafia. The report said the government can take a suitable decision on converting the agricultural land in Nelliampathy to forest land.
