DYFI to carry forward strike against PF pension

KOZHIKODE: The pro-CPI (M) Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) said it would carry forward the strike against the contributory provident fund pension scheme from the next fiscal. Talking to reporters here, DYFI state president M Swaraj and secretary T V Rajesh, MLA said though government employees and teachers had called off the strike, the youth organization would carry forward the agitation against the decision to implement the PF pension scheme replacing the statutory pension scheme in the state. Though the strike was withdrawn, they were able to register their protest against the government's stand, they claimed.

Accusing the community-based organizations in the state for attempting to divide the society on caste basis, they said these outfits, apparently referring to the Nair Service Society and Indian Union Muslim League, claim they were the only forces spearheading the causes of these sections of the people. Another community based outfit, the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam (SNDP) formed to propagate the teachings of social reformer Sree Narayana Guru, virtually turned out to be a 'Natesa Dharma Paripalana Yogam,' by implementing dictates of its general secretary Vallappalli Natesan, they charged.
