Ramesh not to join cabinet, says Chandy

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Monday held talks with KPCC chief Ramesh Chennithala on cabinet reshuffle and later told media persons that the latter is not going to be inducted in the cabinet for now. He also clarified that a cabinet reshuffle is not in the agenda.

Chandy also said that Ramesh has not yet shown interest in joining the cabinet. The reports on this matter are the creation of media. The position of KPCC President is higher than ministerial post. AICC President is the only position higher than the post of KPCC President, Chandy added.

The only priority given right now is for filling the vacancy left after Ganesh Kumar resigned as Forest Minister. A decision will be taken on this after the matter is discussed in the UDF, said Chandy.
