Tenure of PSC rank list will be extended

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government will request Public Service Commission (PSC) to extend the tenure of its rank lists to four and a half years, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said on Wednesday. At present the tenure is three years.

Briefing reporters after the weekly cabinet meet, he said it has been recommended to extend the tenure for four and a half years or till the new rank list comes into effect.

An amount of Rs 5 lakhs will be given to the kin of those dead in Mumbai naval ship accident. Rs 3 lakhs would be given to the family of those killed in bus-auto collision in Thanoor. The government will give job to Rubeena Beevi, wife of Kabeer, who was killed in the accident. A house will also be constructed for the family as they are living in a pathetic condition.  A concrete road will be constructed and an amount of Rs 22 lakhs have been earmarked for it, said Chandy.
