CPM unleashing violence in State, says Chennithala

Tuesday, January 10, 2012: Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Ramesh Chennthala alleged that the CPM was unleashing violence in the State in order to divert the attention from the ongoing factionalism in their party.
He was speaking after inaugurating a march held in Mannar as a protest against the incident in which P.C. Vishnunath MLA was manhandled by a group of CPI (M) activists on Sunday at Kuttamperoor in Alappuzha district.
He was later admitted to the District Hospital at Mavelikkara. The incident happened around 4 pm when Vishnunath arrived to inaugurate the Anganvadi- Kannan Kuzhi Road.
He was given a warm welcome but a group of CPI (M) activists including women stopped him as a sign of protest against inauguration before the start of road works. A scuffle followed and he was injured and soon admitted to hospital.
