K Mohandas rejects Kerala Chief Secretary post

Tuesday, January 10, 2012: Union Shipping secretary K Mohandas on Tuesday rejected the chief secretary post offered by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.
Mohandas personally met the Chief Minister and informed it. The government had planned to appoint Mohandas as the chief secretary and the present chief secretary P Prabhakaran to advisor’s post.
Mohandas retiring on February 18, 2012, said that he is rejecting the post as he will not be able to perform his duties in the short span of time. Not only that the government has so far not assured on his extension.
Mohandas, an officer of the 1974 batch was deputed to the Centre in 2005. The present chief secretary P Prabhakaran will retire on March 9.
