Mullaperiyar: HC satisfied with Govt’s safety measures

Tuesday, 10 January 2012: The Kerala High Court today expressed satisfaction over the safety measures taken by the Government in the Mullaperiyar issue.
Considering the mass pleas including that of opposition leader V S Achuthanandan for deployment of military engineering section in the Mullaperiyar dam, a division bench consisting of Acting Chief Justice Manjula Chellur and Justice P R Ramachandran Nair said they were satisfied with the present situation.
The bench said they cannot intervene on the issue as it was under the consideration of Supreme Court and if a situation arises, would definitely consider.
