Planning committee to be constituted, says PSC chairman

Tuesday, January 03, 2012: The Public Service Commission (PSC) chairman Dr. K.S. Radhakrishnan today informed that a planning committee would be constituted in connection with extension of rank lists’ validity.
PSC chairman was speaking to the reporters after holding discussions with Chief Minister Oommen Chandy here on Tuesday morning. The planning committee will be constituted for deciding on the seniority of the rank lists and the details of the appointments, he added.
The planning committee will comprise of six senior PSC officials. The Public Service Commission had earlier extended the tenure of the rank lists expiring tomorrow till April 30. The PSC took this decision after considering state government’s third recommendation seeking an extension.
The Government had recommended for extending the validity of rank lists to April 30. The PSC had expressed its inability to oblige to the government’s request for extending the tenure of rank lists.
