Tuesday, January 03, 2012: Hundreds of people today paid tearful homage to Kalesh (35) and his son Adityan (4), who lost their lives after being swept away by the swirling waters of a canal at Vayalikkada in the capital city as a result of the heavy torrential rains on Saturday.The bodies were cremated at their residence in Vithura in the presence of a large gathering including MLAs and Ministers on Tuesday. Adityan’s lifeless body was found on Saturday while Kalesh’s body was fished out by the fire and rescue personnel on Monday at 10.30 am.
Kalesh was reportedly swept away while trying to rescue his son Adityan, 4, who died of drowning. The fire and rescue personnel along with the local residents continued their search till Sunday night.
