Action according to seriousness of crime

THIRUVANANTHAPUTRAM: Action will be taken according to the seriousness of the crime in each incidents of violence in the name of hartal, said Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.


Talking to reporters after a special cabinet meet, he said in democracy everybody has the freedom to protest and opine, but it should not be executed after usurping the freedom of others.


Chandy said unleashing violence in the name of protest cannot be digested. Legal steps will be taken in each incidents of violence. A new law will be brought if the existing one is not enough to face violent incidents.
