Malaylam Varsity to start functioning from Nov 1


 Wednesday, Aug 15, 2012: The much awaited Kerala Malayalam University at Tirur in Malappuram will start functioning from November 1, the state’s formation day.

The cabinet, which considered the project report for the University prepared by Chief Secretary K Jayakumar, approved the report, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said after the weekly cabinet meeting here today.

“The Chief Secretary has been asked to take further steps on the matter. The University will function from a building till its new campus is ready,” he said. Chandy said the process of acquiring 100 acres of land required for the campus would be speeded up.
