Notification for land acquisition soon


The notification for land acquisition to expedite work on the Karamana-Kaliyikkavila stretch of the National Highways 47 will be issued shortly, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy promised Shashi Tharoor MP, at a meeting held here the other day.


Shashi Tharoor had urged early action to end the confusion and stalemate over the Karamana-Kaliyikavila road project with particular reference to the delay in issuing the notification for acquisition of land for the project.


The CM gave this promise when  Shashi Tharoor called on him to discuss matters about the the stalled work related to the widening and four-laning of the crucial Karamana-Kaliyikavila road, which is the life-line connecting the southern parts of Thiruvananthapuram Parliamentary constituency to the capital city and the other districts of the State through NH-47.


Tharoor also urged the Chief minister to urgently convene a meeting of  the Ministers who are in charge of the Revenue, Finance and PWD to sort out various bottlenecks. The Chief Minister promised the MP that such a meet would be held on August 9.
