Blackmailing behind complaint, says Binoy Kodiyeri

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Blackmailing is behind the complaint lodged by the woman who was a bar dancer in Dubai, said Binoy Kodiyeri, son of CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. I know the woman who filed the complaint. She had sent a notice stating that she got married six months back and had demanded an amount of Rs 5 crore, he said.

Following the notice, he had lodged a complaint to Kannur range IG. The allegation will be dealt legally, he said. She had alleged that she has an eight year old child from me. There are many scientific methods today to prove it. The complaint is concocted. In the meanwhile, Kannur range IG confirmed that Binoy had filed a complaint against her four months back. The complaint has been handed over to SP for further steps.

The woman came in touch with the accused some years ago when she worked as a bar dancer in Dubai. He used to frequently visit the dance bar following which the woman got into a relationship with Binoy. The accused later asked her to leave her job and promised to marry her. The woman in her complaint mentioned that in 2010, the accused rented a flat in suburban Andheri where he used to visit her regularly and that she has a child from the relationship.

Based on her complaint, the accused has been booked under Indian Penal Code Sections 420 (cheating) and 376 (rape), Oshiwara police station's senior inspector Shailesh Pasalwad said.

Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has not responded on the incident so far. Meantime, CPM central leadership has stated that they will not intervene in the case. As the issue is not connected with the party, he should face it on his own. Party leaders have not intervened in it. If intervened, then action will be taken at the party level. Central leadership said they will communicate with the state leadership on it.
