Kerala police to register case against woman

KOCHI: The Kerala police will register a case against the Bihar native who filed a sexual abuse complaint against Binoy Kodiyeri, son of Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. Binoy had mentioned in the complaint that she was threatening him and he had lodged the complaint in May. Kannur range IG handed over the complaint to SP for further steps. Binoy handed over the letter threatening him, to the police. As the Mumbai police registered the case, the Kerala police too will be taking legal steps.

The case is on the woman’s complaint that she was sexually abused for years. Based on her complaint, the Oshiwara police filed the FIR on June 13. She had mentioned in the complaint that he sexually abused her for years and that she has a child with him. She said that she met him at a dance bar in Mumbai.

He had promised to marry her once she quits her job. She became pregnant in 2009 and later returned to Mumbai. He took a flat for her at Andheri in February 2010 and later shifted there. He used to come frequently from Dubai. In 2015 he informed that his business was at a loss and that he can’t send any more money again. He never attended her calls later.

In 2018, she came to know that he was already married and has two children. When she asked about it, he was not able to give a definite answer. He later threatened her. A case was charged against him under sections 376, 376 (2) (rape) 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 504 (intentional insult) and 506 (criminal intimidation). A probe has started on the complaint, said senior inspector Shailesh Pasalwad.
