HC takes suo moto case on electrocution of two in capital city

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court is intervening on the electrocution of two from a snapped electric line. Justice Devan Ramachandran has taken a suo moto case on the incident. Such kind of incidents should not happen and so is taking a suo moto case.

A case has been registered implicating KSEB and the chief secretary. They were asked to give an explanation. The court asked them to clarify what precautionary measures have been taken to prevent such incidents. The court will decide on further steps after hearing their explanation.

Two were electrocuted Monday morning when they came in touch with a broken electric line at Chakkai. Radhakrishnan and Prasanna Kumari, natives of Pettah were the two electrocuted. The snapped electric line fell into a water clogged area and they without seeing it stamped on it.
