HIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan has said KPCC president V M Sudheeran doesn’t have the guts to tell Chief Minister Oommen Chandy not to contest the upcoming Assembly election. “That is why he is dragging my name into his speeches in the name of Congress leader T N Prathapan,” VS said on Tuesday.
“I will be contesting the election according to the party decision. For that, Sudheeran and his friends need not worry. Over the past 46 years, Ommen Chandy has donned the role of an MLA, opposition leader and chief minister. Now it is his 11th turn. So, Sudheeran wishes Chandy didn’t take part in the election as a contestant. But, Chandy is paying hardly any attention to his words and Sudheeran finds satisfaction in making big statements against Chandy,” VS said.
VS alleged that Chandy was trying to finish Sudheeran’s political career by lining up others in the party against him after the KPPC president talked against his corruption. “Sudheeran has lost all energy to stand up and confront Chandy. This why he has misused my name and unfortunately, Kerala is witnessing Sudheeran remaining a mute spectator to Chandy’s looting,” he said.
