KOZHIKODE: The main accused in the case related to the murder of Thooneri Youth League activist Aslam was arrested today.
The arrested person is CPM activist and Nadapuram Vellore native Rameesh. He is the person who allegedly plotted the murder and stalked Aslam, giving directions to the murderers. The deserted car that was used by them to execute the plot was earlier found by the police. Four persons have been arrested till now in connection with the case. CPM worker Nithin alias Kuttu has also been arrested.
Kankai native Kaliyaparambathu Aslam (24) was killed in August 11. He was going towards Naronkunnu from Nadapuram on his scooter to a playground. The gang which followed Aslam in an Innova car knocked him down at the beginning of Vellore road and then hacked him to death.
The attackers came in the car on which a sticker which read Masha Allah was pasted. There were about eight people inside the car, according to reports. It is believed that such a sticker was stuck on the car to mislead the police.
