THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has issued an order restricting Onam celebration at government offices during office hours. The government staff will have to reschedule their celebration dates so as to avoid working hours getting affected by it.
The Principal Secretary has asked top officers in respective departments to ensure that Atthapookoolam laying function and other celebrations are not held during office hours.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijyan had recently asked the government staff not to celebrate Onam during office hours. “In September, there will be long duration of holidays and the staff should try their maximum to avoid inconvenience to the people who reach the Secretariat, seeking their service,” he had said.
