THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The SFI unit in the University College campus has been dismissed following the incident of a student being stabbed during a conflict. The decision was taken by the SFI state committee. SFI also removed its seven members - A N Nazeem, Shivaranjith, Muhammad Ibrahim, Adwait, Amar and Aromal - who were accused in the case.
SFI state committee opined that its Thiruvananthapuram University College committee failed to work by gaining the acceptance of students or handle the wrong doings in the campus with maturity. The committee mentioned that the SFI tried to maintain peace and order inside the college campus and that action will be taken against all those working against it.
Meanwhile, the conflict that resulted in the stabbing was planned by SFI, the police said. However, the police were not able to catch any of the accused till now. Akhil was first beaten inside the union office. The police found that the union president Nasim and Amal held Akhil, who was stabbed by Shivaranjith.
The police conducted inspection inside different parts of the campus and the residences of the accused, but couldn’t find the accused. The police said that the accused must have left the district.
Meanwhile, the college principal announced that the accused students has been dismissed from the college.
