CHENNAI: Chiyan Vikram’s latest action-thriller Kadaram Kondan has been banned in Malaysia. Lotus Five Star AV, the movie’s distributor in Malaysia, has announced that the Malaysian Film Censor board has ordered to stall the release of the film in the country.
According to reports, the Malaysian censor board felt that the film portrays Malaysian police in bad light. The film, which was shot mostly in Malaysia, apparently shows the Malaysian police favouring criminals and corrupt politicians. At the same time, the Malaysian fans of the actor have started protesting against the film’s ban.
Kadaram Kondan, which also stars Akshara Hassan, Abi Hasan and Lena, is produced by actor Kamal Hassan. The film has been doing considerably good business in India since its release on Friday.
