Chennithala asks CPM to shun politics of violence

KANNUR: KPCC chief Ramesh Chennithala Friday demanded the CPI (M) to shun the politics of violence in the state.
Chennithala said the UDF will not allow making Kannur a West Bengal. Which party can function if all parties try to destroy party offices?

'The incidents in the state after the arrest of P Jayarajan, in connection with the murder case of Abdul Shukkoor since August 1, cannot be justified.

'The Congress Party would organize protest marches against the attack on party offices tomorrow at all panchayats in the state,' he said.

Talking to newsmen at a press conference, Chennithala said hundreds of offices of UDF in the state, mainly those of Congress, IUML and SJD, including the District Congress Committee (DCC) Offices at Kannur and Alappuzha were ransacked by CPM.

'If CPI (M) had any complaint against the police action in the wake of arrest of Jayarajan, they could take legal measures and not act like this,' he said.
