Nurses to wear churidars

PALAKKAD: Accepting the persistent demand of nurses at government hospitals in the state, Minister V.S. Sivakumar on Saturday said that they would be allowed to wear churidar and overcoat. Those who wish to wear the present uniform can wear it.

The minister said this while inaugurating the tele-mobile ophthalmology unit at the district hospital here under the aegis of district panchayat.

He said there is deficiency of doctors in the government hospitals due to work load.  He added that additional posts for 210 doctors and 525 staff nurses will be created.
