Malayalam TV serial to be entirely shot in Oman


DUBAI: A Malayalam television series for a leading entertainment channel in Kerala, will be shot for 18 months entirely in Oman.
According to the line producers of the serial to be aired on Mazahvil Manorama, a 23-member crew will begin filming all its episodes from February 13 and the channel's executive producer will arrive soon in Muscat for the recce.

The story is based on the life of a Keralite and his family residing in Oman for 20 years, a Times of Oman report said.

Mazahvil Manorama, one of the leading entertainment channels in Kerala, will shoot the TV series in Muscat and neighbouring areas from February 13. The director, main actor Tony and a few members will land in Oman on January 9 for the recce," Ibrahim Nalkhande, CEO at Mezoon Travels, the line producers for the series, told the newspaper.

"The series is directed by well-known director Giresh Vennala and the lead role is being played by famous TV actor Tony. The shoot will continue for the next one-and-a-half years in the country.

"This is for the first time that an entire TV serial is being shot in Oman. For the past one year, we have been focusing on marketing Oman as a hot destination for filmmakers. A few big-budget films have been shot in Oman," Renny Johnson, the manager at Mezoon, said.

"The interest showed by filmmakers all over the world shows that Oman has already become a hot destination for both small and big filmmakers. Soon, we will also be bringing in some Hollywood projects. We are also getting support from the Ministry of Tourism," he added.
