THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Following the new economic reform, Kerala Electricity City Board has given consumers two week's time to remit their electricity charge.
The decision was taken in yesterday's cabinet meeting in order to avoid hardships to people, in the wake of scrapping of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes.
Minister Kadakampally Surendran had also received many complaints in this regard and the minister acted quick to pass instructions to KSEB officials on this account.
KSEB in a press note has said the Current charge will be received till November 17. Till then people need not fear about electricity disconnection. Those who have arrears can also clear it through cheques.
