THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CBSE authorities have informed the Child Rights Commission if any CBSE school demands capitation fee for admission, it could charge ten times of that amount as fine.
"The school should not function as a business centre but as a social service centre and the Commission should ensure that schools are not used for any kind of business purpose," they said.
A circular in this regard has been sent to all CBSE schools.
This is their reply to explanation sought by the Commission after they received complaints from parents on hefty capitation fee charged by certain schools.
The Commission has also asked schools to follow CBSE guidelines while charging fee.
