NEW DELHI: BJP Rajya Sabha MP Suresh Gopi was not invited for the meeting of Kerala MPs in New Delhi, convened by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan today to discuss the crisis in the Cooperative banking sector. The actor is said to have expressed his discontent to the chief minister. But later Suresh Gopi told media persons that he had not made any complaint to the chief minister for not inviting him.
Besides Suresh Gopi, Richard Hey was also not invited for the meeting. In the meeting, MPs had decided to meet the prime minister and finance minister to express their grievance.
After the meeting Suresh Gopi is said to have met Pinarayi and conveyed his grievance over not inviting him. Suresh Gopi reportedly told the chief minister that he was anxious about the cooperative sector and the chief minister should have invited him for the meeting. But the chief minister sent him back with polite words.
Later, Suresh Gopi told media persons that “they might not felt the need for calling me… There may be other MPs to fight for their cause. Even I didn’t have any information on the meeting”.
Regarding the withdrawal of Rs 500 and Rs 1000, Suresh Gopi said, it was the most appropriate decision and an economic operation that could not have been done with prior notice. There may be inconvenience for a few days and the government is making all-out efforts to sort out the anomalies.
