THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan has joined the prestigious 100 crore club after creating a new history in the Malayalam films. This is the first time a Malayalam film is joining the 100-crore club. The film released on October 7 has joined the club after a month of its release. Jeethu Joseph’s Drishyam with Mohanlal in the lead role had gained 75 crore in the box office. Nivin Pauly’s Premam released in 2015 had gained 60 crore.
Pulimurugan directed by Vaishak and produced by Tomichan Mulakupadom under the banner of Mulakupadom Films is still running to packed houses.In many places, tickets are not available. In the meanwhile, the fake copy of the film was circulated in the net. However, it was removed by the intervention of cyber dome.
Vaishak and Tomichan Mulakupadom said they are happy on the film joining the 100-crore film. Vaishak said this is the result of his years’ long hard work. I never expected the film would join the 100-crore club, said Tomichan.
South Indian actress Kamalini Mukherjee is the heroine of the film. Other casts include Vinu Mohan, Siddique, Makarand Deshpande, M R Gopakumar, Lal, Jagapathy Babu, Bala, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Namitha and many others.
