Thiruvananthapuram : Acclaimed novelist C Radhakrishnan has been selected for this year's coveted Ezhutahchan Puraskaram, the state government'a highest literary honour.
The award comprises a purse of Rs 1.5 lakh, a citation and a statuette. An official announcement in this regard will be made on Tuesday.
Radhakrishnan was born to Parappur Madathil Madhavan Nair and Chakkupurakkal Janaki Amma at Chamravattom in Ponnani taluk in February 15, 1939.
His works such as Ellam Mayakunna Kadal, Pullippuliyum Vellinakshathrangalum, Spandhamapinikale nandi, Ivide Ellavarkkum Sukham Thane, Puzha Muthal Puzha Vare, Munpe parakkunna pakshikal, Karal pilarum Kalam, Ini oru Nirakanchiri, Ullil Ullathu, Theekkadal Kadanju Thirumadhuram had garnered much attention at the publishing stage itself.
Radhadrishnan is a recipient of several coveted honours including the National Literary Academy of India, Kerala Literary Academy, Vayalar Award, Mahakavi G.Award, Pandit Karuppan Award, Lalithambika Award and Padmaprabha Puruskaram.
He was also selected for this year's Mathrubhumi Literary Award in recognition of his rich contribution to the field of literature.
