Thiruvananthapuram: The Covid cases have risen sharply raising grave concerns in the state. Today, 31,445 people have been diagnosed with the disease. The highest number of cases were reported in Ernakulam. There are 4048 people here. More than 3000 patients are in three districts. 3865, Kozhikode 3680, Malappuram 3502. Palakkad 2562, Kollam 2479, Kottayam 2050, Kannur 1930, Alappuzha 1874, Thiruvananthapuram 1700, Idukki 1166, Pathanamthitta 1008, Wayanad 962 and Kasargod 619 were confirmed in the districts today.
Over the past 24 hours, 1,65,273 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate is 19.03. Rutin sample, sentinel sample, CB Nat, Trunat, POCT PCR, RT So far, 3,06,19,046 total samples have been tested, including LAMP and antigen testing. Today, 215 deaths in recent days have been confirmed as being caused by Covid-19. This brings the total death toll to 19,972
Today, 138 of those confirmed have come from outside the state. 29,608 people were infected through contact. The source of contact with 1576 people is unclear.
