ATTINGAL: A remand prisoner who escaped from the Attingal district jail was captured within 24 hours by the jail officials. The prisoner has been identified as Sugunan (32) of Attingal.
It is suspected that he may have escaped through the wall which was short.
Asst jailor Sudarshan identified him when he was having tea at a tea stall near his house in Korani early Wednesday morning. He immediately informed his colleagues and they surrounded and caught him. He was later handed over to the Attingal police. He was jailed for stealing Rs 8000 from a hundi on September 13.
